This Tribe's been dead for awhile, so I was thinking of deleting it. I wrote to Tribe and asked how to delete a Tribe and this is the rsponse I received:

"We are reluctant to delete a tribe that has content because people who
post to a Tribe generally have some sense of ownership of that
content. Deleting it without their permission would be inappropriate.
This is true even for "dead" tribes which have had no recent activity
as it is part of the purpose of Tribe to create a portfolio of
interesting content which may frequently be read even if it is no
longer being added to."

So....is anyone interested in becoming the Moderator of this Tribe? If I don't heare from anyone by October 31, 2009, I am going to leave this Tribe and and leave it open to whomever wants to moderate.

NEW ALBUM: LIFE AND TIMES, AVAILABLE APRIL 7TH
2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Workbook, and also the release of Bob Mould's latest album, Life And Times, set for an April 7th street date. Produced and mixed by Mould in his current hometown of Washington D.C., the album is filled with Mould's experiences in relation to friends, lovers, the world at large and himself.

It is honest and personal, his voice breaking on "Bad Blood Better," the electronic twitches of earlier work reappearing under signature blazing guitars on "MM17." Mould appraises the perils of easy self-distraction on "Wasted World" and is not afraid to get explicit on "Argos." The emotional and musical centerpiece of the record, "I'm Sorry Baby, But You Can't Stand In My Light Anymore," is an unflinching look at the sorrow and regret that comes at the end of love.

'Life And Times' Tracklist:
Life And Times
The Breach
City Lights (Days Go By)
MM 17
Argos
Bad Blood Better
Wasted World
Spiraling Down
I'm Sorry, Baby, But You Can't Stand In My Light Any More

BOB MOULD TO PUBLISH AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Michael Pietsch, Publisher of Little, Brown and Company, announced this week that Bob Mould will be writing his autobiography in collaboration with Michael Azerrad, author of the bestselling Our Band Could Be Your Life and Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana.

The memoir will, for the first time ever, delve deeply into Mould's life as a musician and his experiences with Hüsker Dü, as a solo artist, and in his most commercially viable and successful work as leader of the 90s indie rock kingpins Sugar. He will also tell the story of his other lives, including his internal struggle with his sexuality, the coming-out process, and his subsequent embrace of, and service to, the LGBT community; his work as a creative consultant / director in the world of pro wrestling; his work as a record producer, including seminal projects by Soul Asylum and Magnapop; and his foray into electronic / dance music, including the popular BLOWOFF club events held nationwide.

Bob Mould said, "For many years, people have asked if and when I would write my autobiography. I have always looked forward to this point in time, where I could tell my stories, to answer the many questions about the music and the lifestyle, and how they inform the creative process. I have not been alone on this ride: friends and foes, mentors and associates, peers, lovers, all traveling by my side. The ride so far has been incredible, and I hope to do my memory right in documenting the journey."

It is expected to be published in autumn 2010.

TORONTO/NEW YORK (Billboard) - Paul Westerberg (news), Bob Mould (news) and the Gear Daddies are confirmed for an Oct. 23 benefit concert in Minneapolis for Soul Asylum bassist Karl Mueller, who was recently diagnosed with throat cancer.

According to Westerberg's official Web site (http://members.aol.com/paulspage/), the show, to take place at the Quest, also will feature members of Soul Asylum as well as the super group Golden Smog, staffed by members of Wilco and the Jayhawks. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Westerberg recently told Billboard that for one of the first times since the demise of the Replacements, he considered reuniting the band for the benefit.

"I didn't call the guys myself," he admitted. "One of our old roadie pals came over who owns a bar now and runs a club and was asking if I would do a benefit for Karl and I said, 'See if the boys want to play.' And he kind of went around and got various answers and it didn't come back real strong like, 'Hey let's do it.' And I felt like that was the opportunity, that was the chance and we just missed it.

"Now I say, there's probably no chance we'll get back together again," he said, without pinpointing which former band mates were not interested. "It bothered me for like an afternoon," he laughed. "But, it did bother me for that long because I was secretly excited and some of them weren't."

Columbia/Legacy will on Oct. 12 release the Soul Asylum concert set "After the Flood: Live From the Grand Forks Prom." The album was taped June 28, 1997, at the Grand Forks Airbase in North Dakota. The veteran rock act accepted an offer from two area high schools to perform, after the town was decimated by heavy flooding.
John Cameron Mitchell

Happy Holidays to everyone - I hope you all have had a healthy and prosperous year. Thanks to everyone in the DC area who helped make BLOWOFF a great experience in 2003!

Rich and I will be taking a break from BLOWOFF at Backbar; we'll be resuming our Saturday nights sometime in January. Go to http://blowoff.us and sign up for the mailing list. We continue our monthly appearances at C2 in Charlottesville VA - the next BLOWOFF at C2 is Friday, January 16.

The most recent interview can be found at http://www.c-ville.com/www/asp/3.asp Scroll to the bottom of the page.

I've also been working on some new tracks for the never-ending saga that is the making of "Body Of Song". The recent round of record company meetings went well; I'm hoping to have some definite news regarding the release, and subsequent touring, shortly after the New Year.

Also, check out my remix of VHS Or Beta's "Solid Gold", on Stifle Recordings. I am honored to be the lead track on this single. The band's website is http://www.vhsorbeta.com/

The last few years have been an interesting period for me: taking a sabbatical from NYC - the new friends I've made in DC - the new sounds and styles I've worked with - spending less time touring - there's been a lot of major changes, and I'm feeling excited and ready for the next set of changes. I miss the old days as much (well, maybe not as much -
chuckle) as most of you do, but life is short, and we all need to make the most out of our new experiences.

Be well, and if you're traveling this month, be safe!

Best regards,
Bob Mould
